haircutting
A cut that works with your texture, your face shape, and how much time you actually want to spend on your hair in the morning. Not a photo from a phone reproduced on someone it was never going to suit.
Our cutting floor works across textures, including curly and wavy hair cut dry and shaped to the curl pattern rather than blown out first and hoped for.
how we approach cutting
Most bad haircuts aren’t technical failures. They’re the result of nobody asking the right questions before the scissors came out.
If you own a round brush and never use it, there’s no point in a cut that needs one. We’d rather build a shape that works with a rough dry and five minutes than one that only looks right the day you leave.
Density, curl pattern, cowlicks, and how your hair falls all decide what a shape will do. The same cut on two people produces two different results, and we’ll tell you honestly if the picture you brought isn’t going to happen on your hair.
A cut should still look intentional at week eight, not just week one. That changes how we weight the shape and where we take length out, and it’s the difference between a trim every six weeks and one every twelve.
We’re a women’s salon. We don’t take men’s or children’s appointments. It’s not a slight — it’s that our cutting floor is built around longer-form transformation work, and a thirty-minute clipper cut isn’t something we do well.
services & pricing
Every price is a starting point. Length and density move the final number, and your stylist confirms it with you before starting.
All cuts include a consultation, shampoo, and a finish. If you want it styled properly for an event afterward, add a blowout.
Booked on their own or added to a color or treatment. The specialty blowout is for when you want something set and lasting rather than smooth and simple.
A transformation haircut runs one to two hours, because a significant change is a slower conversation and a slower cut. Book that one when you aren’t squeezing it into a lunch break.
what to expect
We talk before anything is washed — what’s working, what isn’t, what you do at home. Bring photos if you have them; we’ll be honest about what will translate.
At the bowl, with product matched to your hair rather than whatever’s nearest.
Curly and heavily textured hair is often cut dry so we can see the curl pattern as it actually falls. Straighter hair is usually cut wet.
We style it and show you how, so you can repeat it. If you can’t do it at home, it isn’t the right cut.
keeping the shape
A good cut can be undone by the wrong product. Fine hair weighed down with a heavy cream loses every bit of the movement we just built in. Curls treated with the wrong foam go frizzy by lunchtime.
We carry Bumble and bumble for styling and finishing, and your stylist will point you to the two or three things that suit your hair — not a shelf full.
before you book
No. LaBara is a women’s salon and we don’t take men’s or children’s appointments. Our cutting floor is built around longer-form transformation work, and a short clipper cut isn’t a service we do well.
A significant change rather than a trim — a substantial length change, a new shape, or moving from one silhouette to another. It runs one to two hours because it needs a longer consultation and a slower, more considered cut. Book it when you have the time.
Yes, and we cut it as curly hair rather than as straight hair that happens to curl. Depending on your pattern we’ll often cut dry so we can see where each curl actually sits, which is the only way to shape it predictably.
It depends on the shape. A precise bob or a heavy fringe needs attention every six to eight weeks to hold its line. Longer layered cuts can stretch to twelve weeks or more. We’ll tell you which yours is.
Yes, and most guests do. Book them together so we can allow the time — a color plus a cut is a longer appointment than either alone, and we’d rather schedule it properly than rush the second half.
