People come in asking for a keratin treatment meaning two completely different results. Getting this wrong is how someone ends up with straighter hair than they wanted, or the same curls and the same frizz.
You can smooth the cuticle and kill the frizz while leaving your curl pattern essentially intact. Your hair still curls — it just stops fighting the humidity, dries faster, and behaves. This is what most curly guests actually want.
A stronger smoothing service relaxes the pattern itself, so hair falls looser and blow-dries straight in a fraction of the time. It’s a bigger change and it’s harder to undo, so we talk it through properly before committing.
Lightened or previously treated hair has limits. If your hair has had a lot done to it, we may recommend a gentler service, or building strength first with a bond treatment and coming back. We’d rather delay than compromise the hair.

The full smoothing service. Reduces frizz substantially and, depending on how it’s applied, can also soften the curl pattern. Results last for months rather than weeks.
A gentler option focused on frizz rather than curl. Good for hair that wants smoothing without a significant change to its pattern, and a lighter commitment than a full keratin service.
If your hair is heavily lightened or has been through a lot, a bond treatment first is sometimes the right call. We’ll say so at your consultation rather than push ahead.

We look at your curl pattern, your hair’s condition, and what you actually want — frizz gone, or curl loosened. These lead to different services.
The product is worked through in sections and sealed with heat. Allow a long appointment — this is not a lunch-hour service.
There’s a window where you need to keep hair down and dry. We’ll tell you exactly how long yours is before you leave.

A smoothing treatment that should carry you several months can be stripped back in weeks by a sulfate shampoo. It’s the single most common reason someone says a keratin “didn’t work” on them.
Your stylist will point you to a sulfate-free take-home range before you leave. It isn’t an upsell — it’s the difference between a service that lasts and one you paid for twice.

Months rather than weeks, and it fades gradually rather than growing out in a hard line. How long depends heavily on what you wash it with — sulfate shampoo strips it dramatically faster.

The keratin smoothing treatment is the fuller service and can address both frizz and curl pattern. The mineral de-frizz treatment is gentler, focuses on frizz, and leaves the curl pattern closer to where it started. The de-frizz is also the lighter commitment if you’re trying smoothing for the first time.
Not immediately. There’s a waiting window while the treatment sets, and hair needs to stay down and dry through it. The exact window depends on which service you had, and your stylist will tell you before you leave.
